The Wraptor Balance comes in two main sections, the “Sleeve” and the “Floats”. When both the sleeve and the floats are attached to the boat the Wraptor Balance provides additional balance and stability which allows the rower to learn or execute various drills while in the boat, safe in the knowledge that the Wraptor Balance will provide that extra stability if and when required.
By Removing the upper float section of Wraptor Balance and retaining the lower sleeve section, you can use the unique patented reversible fin (which comes with the kit) which allows for standardised resistence across all boats involved in the session.
Therefore both coach and squad, have accurate feedback throughout the whole group, during any training session involving power strokes.
Once the Floats are removed, the Sleeve section can remain on the boat allowing the rower to perform various drills using the sleeve, either as an extra fin or to create additional drag on the flow to increase resistance in the water therefore increasing strength during training.
The Wraptor Balance sleeve has hollow tubes fitted which allow water to pass through, showing the rower how efficiently they are moving the boat . If the water spout is constant the rower is moving well, however if the water spouts in an erratic and inconsistent manner the rower is made aware that his or her technique requires improvement.
The sleeve of Wraptor Balance accomodates a hollow tube which acts as a tell-tale on the boat. The rowing movement creates positive and negative forces which effect the “run” of the boat. The challenge for both rower and coach is to accentuate the positive and “limit” the negative. If the rower, or rowers, rush the slide the water from the tube will “spurt” out . If they move efficiently, the water spout will rise and fall through the stroke cycle more evenly giving all concerned an immediate readout of the quality of movement in the boat.
